Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Respond to incidents
   • Assess nature of incident to identify risk and response options
   • Identify resources required for response to incident
   • Plan response, taking into account the nature of the incident and other impacting factors
   • Implement response in a manner which minimises risk to safety of self, colleagues and public
   • Reassess the incident to adjust response
   • Provide briefings to support the response and ensure the sharing of information
2. Perform proactive policing duties
   • Plan patrols in accordance with unit, divisional and organisational objectives
3. Conduct patrols for crime prevention and public safety purposes
4. Gather information through patrol activities
5. Share information with authorised stakeholders
6. Demonstrate knowledge of the local policing area
   • Identify sources of information for policing intelligence purposes
7. Assess local policing area to identify areas of focus for policing services
8. Establish communication lines and networks with individuals/communities
9. Gather information to support the development of intelligence
   • Assess nature of incident to identify risk and response options
10. Identify resources required for response to incident

18. Secure evidence to support policing, court and judicial processes
